Like a lot of people, my favorite Johnny Gaudreau moment was when he scored the game 7 overtime goal in the 2022 playoffs vs the stars. That moment alone was so exciting and brought so much energy to the city but what makes that moment really special to me was seeing the embrace between him and Monahan as Johnny was leaving the ice. It was so heartwarming seeing how close those 2 really were and how much advancing to the next round meant to both of them! My heart breaks for your family, I'm so very sorry for your loss! My first memory of John was in 2017 in Las Vegas at the NHL Awards during the “magenta carpet “, as it was called. John was just happy to be there,happy to be among the fans. You both earned your wings way too soon. There are no words to ease your loved ones pain, but know that many prayers are being offered for all of you. May God wrap each of you in His loving arms and comfort you with His peace and love in your time of sorrow. Just know that the bond of love is never broken. Johnny and Matty will never truly leave you. They may be gone from sight, but their spirits will truly live on by your sides everyday. Have faith, even when it seems so hard. Faith will get your through. Watch & listen for their signs and they will let you know in many ways that they're still there with you always. You now have angels on each of your shoulders to guide you through life. Talk to them everyday and they will hear you...they will answer you one way or another. It's amazing how their spirits can communicate with you. When the pain of their loss overwhelms you, try to imagine the joy they felt in their hearts being reunited with loved ones that have passed before them that they've missed, and especially think of them together forever in paradise with our Lord. I'm so, so sorry this tragedy happened to your family. Life isn't fair and it seems the truly good ones are always called home too soon.
